Portrait of Dr. Paul Gachet

My doctor. Also, weirdly, my friend? He collects art and actually gets what I'm trying to do, which is more than I can say for most doctors. Or most people, honestly. He wanted to pose with this foxglove plant because he's into symbolism. It's medicine but also poison – very "I contain multitudes" energy. He's got this whole melancholic vibe that he really leans into. Like, we get it, you've read Baudelaire. The blue background was his idea. Said it would make him look "contemplative." Sure, doc. You look super contemplative. The red table was my revenge. Now he looks contemplative but also slightly alarmed. Balance.
